History of the Clothesline Project
The New Hampshire Clothesline Project, part of the National Clothesline Project, is a visual display that uses t-shirts to bear witness to domestic and sexual violence. Each shirt is designed to represent a particular person’s experience and is made by a survivor or someone who cares about them. The shirts are then displayed to the public.
The purpose of the Clothesline Project is to:
- Educate, document, and raise awareness of the extent of domestic and sexual violence and stalking
- Help with the healing process for people who have lost a loved one or are survivors of this violence
- Provide an important avenue for survivors to courageously break the silence
Voices Against Violence
It is our mission to break the cycle of violence by
providing comprehensive services for all victims and
survivors and by creating social change through
education and action.
We provide information and support to victims and survivors, their family and friends, community members, and professionals around domestic violence, children who witness domestic violence, sexual violence and harassment, stalking, and bullying. We are Southern Grafton County’s resource for the most updated and current information, state and federal guidelines, and best practice around these issues. Feel free to look around this website or give us a call for more information.
All of our services are FREE and CONFIDENTIAL
Core Values
We create a safe and confidential environment for individuals to gain perspective on their choices.
We educate individuals about their choices and then honor and support the choices they make.
We respect that people are at different stages of their processes, and we work to meet them where they are.
We honor the model of peer support that was at the foundations of Voices’ grassroots origins, and we remind each other that our clients are not alone in their experience of abuse, and that anyone can be abused.
We empower individuals to realize their own capacities and strengths, and we believe that individuals are best equipped to understand their needs and abilities.
We believe our clients and we believe in them.
We act and live ethically.
